Card: Gone Fishin
I stamped up a bunch of images to colour, and this one by Sullivan's stamps was just one. I couldn't resist playing around with some drab colours to see how he would look. And with Fathers day this weekend I guess there's no better time to think about your dad. So that's just what I did.
One of the challenges this week called for 3-2-1... that made it fun. So sets of 3 brads on two hinges and 1 other embellie. Hope it met the formula! Otherwise it was lots of anything goes.
Supplies

I'm home with the Flu, and have about enough energy to do any one thing for 30-40 mins before I crash. So it's taken me a few days but I finished up my first Digi Card! I used a fabulous digi image from kenny k downloads.
I have to say, orange and green are NOT colours I use very often (Halloween maybe?), but I am pretty happy with the way this came out. This is also the first time I have coloured with promarkers, and again I am happy with my first attempt.

Card: Imagination knows no bounds
Last night I had a couple of friends over. They where keen to see what I did in my recent Tim Holtz workshops. The liked the Canvas project but they LOVED the technique tag book. They are now keen to pick a technique each time the come and have a play. So last night they picked the shabby chic tag. (Tag #9), they chose this one cos I didn't have a sample tag in place for this one. The reason being when I went to recreate this one I found I was out of clear embossing powder, which I replaced last weekend. So we picked a few different stamps to play with. And one was this Angel company background stamp, rather then shabby chic it took on a bit of a grunge look (never fear I did do a great shabby chic sample to finish the tag book). So I went with the industrial grungey type look and feel. I have to confess I still managed to get some Lindys mist in there... definitely addicted!
The gauges are great wooden embellishments I found on Etsy. The other two circles are from my jewellery embellishment collection and I added the spanner cos I just though it looked great.
Was a fun night, Monica and I both ended up with masculine cards, while Dee has a great shabby chic feminine card.

Layout: Hmm...
Did I mention that I was really inspired following my Tim Holtz Workshops? Well, I was, am, whatever... Might also be that I loved working with the Swirly's 'So Chic' May kit.
Here is another layout that I have completed this weekend, two in 2 days is a lot for me...
I again used the Botanique papers from the kit, this time I used 'Imagine; I also used a bit of my WoW Chicken wire chipboard, which I painted with Adirondack Metallic silver then dabbed on some of Lindy's Frolic in the Forest Black.
The 'hmm' was made using Thickers from the kit, along with the supplied microbeads. I think this is the first time outside of a class that I have tried my hand at fuzzy cutting.
I would like to enter this layout to the following challenges:

Card: Pretty in Pink, or is that Purple
You know how sometimes you really want to make something, you even know the stamp you want to play with, but just nothing comes to mind? That was me this last several days. I just wanted to be crafty but nothing was working. I have three new half started projects, which in time will be finished and hopefully great, but...
Then, I checked my blog. Thank god for my blog. There was the inspiration I needed, all I had to do was follow the link to the Shabby Tea Room and check out the weekly challenge.

I am loven the challenges, they give me a chance to try new things and remind me to play with old favorites. This card is based on a sketch at Eat Sleep Stamp and used the challenge at Penny Black at all Sorts. I picked the bingo line Brown, Black and blue cos they are colours I don't normally put together. And I used this stamp cos it is one of my favs.

That's why one of the Blogs I follow is Let's Get Shabby. So when I saw the latest Challenge and the rules ( Strawberries and Hearts) I thought of this stamp. The I just had to have a go.
This one is called Happy Times, which if you look closely is in the text on the big heart in red, and on the little heart I captured "Happy". After all who wouldn't be happy with all those strawberries. And I figure you have to love them to carry so many at once...
Supplies:

Lace: Stampin UP
Punches: Hearts, Martha Stewart - Border Punch
Coloured with Distress Inks

OTP: ELLE

A couple of the challenges this week were 'Anything Goes',so I decided to splash out and play a little. I had bought these letters at Christmas. My original hope was to do 'NOEL', but I could get the N or O, I could however get the E and L. Given that is my name I decided I would grab the letters anyway.
With this weeks challenges I thought it was a good time to do something with them.
This is my first take on this type of thing, I am happy with where they are now, but feel like maybe I can do more. So I consider them Finished now, but am not ruling out a revisit later.
Love the Butterfly die, it is awesome! (Currently on loan from Pam, Thanks Pam!!!)
The papers are October Afternoon - Thrift Shop, the paint used was Jo Sonya. And this flowers was made with fabric and Tim Holtz Tattered Flowers die.
I love, love love this heart, so I wanted to keep it simple and let it be the focal. The lace is SU. And this ribbon used n the project is Seam Binding, died with Distress Stain.
The ribbon used to tie the floral bunch is SU Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding. ( I had fun splashing paint and smearing it here or there)
Supplies:
Papers: October Afternoon - Thirft Shop
SU: Cherry Cobbler Seam Binidng
Flowers From my collection
Dies: Tim Holtz - Tattered Flowers, Memory Box - Butterfly
Other: Seam Binding, Paint and Distress Stain
Crafters Companion - Challenge #21: Anything Goes
The Pretty Little Ribbon Shop - Challenge #7: Anything Goes
