Card - Dress Form, Easel Card

Hello Blog land!  Today I wanted to post pictures of some cards I made for friends this week.  I started off planning to just make one card, but it was so much fun and so easy I made 4.

These cards are all easel cards.  Made using the Tim Holtz Sewing Room - dress form die, Prima papers and some odds an ends around the craft room.

The example above was made with feathers, ribbon and rub-ons.

These 2 cards were each made with an assortment of ribbons and lace.  I was looking for the shabby chic look.

This one was made by cutting lengths of ribbon and adhering them in place.  I added a little wool trim to spice it up.

Thanks for checking out my card projects.

Happy crafting til net time,
Elle

Mini Album - Baby Book

This little 6x6 Gate Fold Mini is completely inspired by Ginger of My Sister's Scrapper  http://youtu.be/-bjZ4bkUKNo.

Ginger provides super awesome instructions and I couldn't resist giving it a go.  This is also the first time I have made a mini for the purpose of giving it away.  It came together much quicker then I expected and I really liked the finished product.

The person I gave it to seemed to really like it - she has a a little girl about 3 yrs old and thought she might use it to pop a few of her pictures in.

The album has 6 pages on each side.

I used a combination of Prima's 6x6 Jack and Jill paper pad as well as some nursery rhyme papers I had from a few years back.

Each page is a pocket and I kept the pages pretty simple,

On the last page or back cover the tab can be lifted for an extra photo
 mat.

And this are the tabs I made for each pocket.  I included little journal tabs on most of these as they act as both an anchor for a photo and or a place to right a little comment.

OTP: Configuration Tray for Sarah

Last week one of the girls on out team decided to give notice and take a new job.  She has been such a big part of the team for the last year it is sad to see her go.  That got me thinking that I wanted to do something for her and I cam up with the idea to make a configuration tray with things that represented our time working together.

Sarah is outrageous, she loves to quilt, has a fascination with shoes and quirky clothes.  She is a gem.

I had fun making this and the finished product is soooo Sarah.  I gave it to her today.  She loved it and others at work want one now too...sigh.

The try is 7 Gypsy's, I used Stampin up paper and the embellies are odds and ends I had on hand.  The needle and thread is a die cut (xcut I think) and the Dress form is Tim Holtz decorated with tissue paper flowers.

Mini Album: USA 2012

For the last few trips I have taken to creating my own travel journal mini album.  This is important to me as the only time I keep a journal is when I travel.

This year I made all the pages based on a combinations of techniques, the page construction was inspired by the following project on You tube called Happy Haunting Mini Album.  Here is the link: Happy Hauntings Mini Album

Rather then take lots of picture I took a little video to show my album.  Please note the audio starts off absent of sound but suddenly cuts in. I will have to work on my video techniques ...

Supplies:

Kaszazz - DS Papers, Rub-ons, Stamps
Prima - Papers
Kaiser - Ephemera
Lace, Charms and adhoc jewellery supplies.

Next up is AJ's mini Album.  It will be much much much smaller...  He doesn't usaully journal as often but he does like to jot down some experiences.

Cheers

CCC: On the Beach/Under the Sea

Hi, it's time for my first entry as a DT member for Creative Card Crew. The creativity of the team over at CCC is awesome and I am thrilled to have been asked to join the team.

This weeks challenge is On the Beach / Under the Sea.  Our sponsor this week is the very talented  Michelle Perkett, click the link to visit her Etsy shop and see all her great images.

Pop along to Creative Card Crew to check out the inspiration from the rest of the team...

The image for my card is one of Michelle's digis.  It has been coloured with Promarkers, Prisma pencils and I created my background with some of Lindy's awesome mists (using the sponge cap). I used Prima Papers and some Alterations dies to make my seaweed.  The sentiment is a favourite from Kaszazz.

Come on over and play along to have a chance to win a prize.

Cheers

Layout: More

It's been a week of long hours at work, I have had a cold (again) and just feel so tired, but Am happy to say that spending time in the craft room was just what I needed.  I completed this layout of Ebony using the the sketch from Lets Capture These Sketches.  I didn't mess with the sketch, it appealed to me just as it was.  I love that when I work from a sketch I am not influenced by papers or colours, so I can take the sketch and make it mine.

This sketch gave me a chance to play with layers...  it's good to keep playing with elements that I wouldn't normally use.

The title is... One more please

I picked that title because a day at the dog park means taking off for adventures and games of fetch, and that happy doggy face just made me think she wanted us to toss a stick...again!

Supplies

Cardstock:  Bazzill
Papers:  Prima, Kc & Company
Dies: Cheery Lynn - doilies, Memory Box -Frame
Butterfly's are from LittleScrapShop
Lindys

Tag: Cherish Friends

Patrice from  52 Card Pick-up  stopped by and left me a lovely comment on another tag I did and she mentioned linking it up to her current challenge.  It didn't feel right back linking, so thinking about her challenge and the new challenge this week at The Shabby Tea Room.  I went ahead and made this tag.

Supplies:

Kaszazz: Tag
Kaiser craft: Card embellies
Lace, cheese cloth and roses ribbon
Dies:  Memory box, Tim Holtz
Punchs:  Fiskers

Also used distress stickles, distress inks and you guessed it, some Lindys.  There's also a little bronze key ticked in there too.

Card: A challenge

This is my personal challenge card.  Was very definitely inspired by the Here come the boys   Blog.   But also, I was determined to use of the the Michael Powell stamps that I have and make it work for me.  The reason being that these are such detailed stamps, I have to say they have overwhelmed me.

But, with distress markers and determination, I made this one work.  At least I hope so!  And this care will work in my male category.

Supplies:

Kaszazz:  Card stock, Tag
Tim Holtz:  Distress Markers
India Ink
Whimsy Design:  Label dies, label stamp
Twine
Anchor charm

Layout: the LOVE of a dog

My friend, my pal, my baby...My Ebony.

This layout was inspired by two challenge blogs:

once upon a sketch blog
scrap africa

Both blogs had great new sketches this week that helped to get the creative juices flowing.  On this page I was working on using layers.  Of course I had to be creative with the 6' paper to get all my layers looking right.

The Kaszazz designer paper I used as a base had words that referred to Ebony and Ivory, and a vision for a future where all live in harmony.  I thought this was perfect for my Ebony's page

The Prima Bling I cut in half to use on both sides at the bottom.  My journalling is hidden on a tag on the side...you can just see it poking out with it's little lace finish.  The journalling tells of how we love to spend time with the girls at the park and how for us it is 'Family' time.  And the two little flags were added last, I found them on the Prima packaging as I was cleaning up and thought, Wow, they are just what I need to finish this.  The wording on the top flag says 'memories with you' and the second one says ' cherished moments'

Supplies:

Kaszazz:  Tag, 12" Card Stock and 12"designer paper
Kaiser craft: 6" designer paper pad
Jolee's Boutique:  Lace
Prima: Bling, and the little flag embellies were cut out from the Prima packaging
Cricut and Gypsy: the words
Distress inks
Lindys Mists
Glossy Accents
Texture Paste

Card: Imagination knows no bounds

Last night I had a couple of friends over. They where keen to see what I did in my recent Tim Holtz workshops. The liked the Canvas project but they LOVED the technique tag book. They are now keen to pick a technique each time the come and have a play. So last night they picked the shabby chic tag. (Tag #9), they chose this one cos I didn't have a sample tag in place for this one. The reason being when I went to recreate this one I found I was out of clear embossing powder, which I replaced last weekend. So we picked a few different stamps to play with. And one was this Angel company background stamp, rather then shabby chic it took on a bit of a grunge look (never fear I did do a great shabby chic sample to finish the tag book). So I went with the industrial grungey type look and feel. I have to confess I still managed to get some Lindys mist in there... definitely addicted!

The gauges are great wooden embellishments I found on Etsy. The other two circles are from my jewellery embellishment collection and I added the spanner cos I just though it looked great.

Was a fun night, Monica and I both ended up with masculine cards, while Dee has a great shabby chic feminine card.

Tag: No 1.

I love my weekend review of all things craft.  From Friday to Sunday I review the blogs for the last week.  I try to keep up during the week but sometimes I just don't get to see all that crafty inspiration.

Any ways, in my travels this weekend I found Sarah Hurley challenges and she had a great challenge for all things textured. That got me thinking about those great techniques I learnt with Tim Holtz and well it was time to make a tag. This tag will soon make its way onto a layout but for here it is.

I used TH metal technique, which I finished with a nice spritz from a Lindys mist. I used up some of the cut outs from last time I used my notebook border punch to finish of the tissue tape edge ( which was of course distress with some distress inks. The tag itself includes metallic paint, distress inks and the aforementioned Lindys mist. The heart was a silver one that I repainted with gold metallic paint and distressed with Distress ink.
Lovin the crafty time on weekends!

Layout: Warming Up

This layout was inspired by the current sketch challenge over at Creative Scrappers, this one is based on Sketch #214.

The layout is of my nephew James.  He and his dad popped in to show us their new Puppy, Choco.  James is often a bit overwhelmed by my labs, so it takes a little while for him to warm up to them.  In this photo is Amber my 8yr old and Choco.  Ebony must have wandered off, cos she and the pup played pretty much the whole time.

I had fun with this layout and other then turning the sketch sideways I kept pretty close to the original...

The hinge embellishment was inspired by embellishments purchased from Angelica's Little Scrap Shop.

Supplies:

Kaszazz Papers: Castaway collection
Punches:  MArtha Stewart and EK Success
Time Holts Alterations:  Tattered Banners, Hardware
Glossy Accents
Kaiser craft flowers
Lace
Butterfly: littlescrapshop
Sizzix letters

Layout: Hmm...

Did I mention that I was really inspired following my Tim Holtz Workshops?  Well, I was, am, whatever... Might also be that I loved working with the Swirly's 'So Chic' May kit.

Here is another layout that I have completed this weekend, two in 2 days is a lot for me...

I again used the Botanique papers from the kit, this time I used 'Imagine;  I also used a bit of my WoW Chicken wire chipboard, which I painted with Adirondack Metallic silver then dabbed on some of Lindy's Frolic in the Forest Black.

The 'hmm' was made using Thickers from the kit, along with the supplied microbeads.  I think this is the first time outside of a class that I have tried my hand at fuzzy cutting.

I would like to enter this layout to the following challenges:

Layout: Mud Spa!

I have been receiving kits from the Swirlydoo's Kit club for quite a few months now, but to date haven't done much more then play with some of the technique kits.

Following my amazing week that included 2 Tim Holtz workshops, I was inspired to get crafty.  And more I have decided to stop hoarding and start using.  So, I grabbed my last kit, the May 'So Chic' kit.

This kit was choc full of goodness including GDC papers - Botanique collection, great Prima flowers, lace and lots of other goodies.

Each kit also includes a page map...so I set about using the page map as inspiration and I jumped in.  I have a bunch of photos of our girls ( Ebony and Amber) from a trip to the Dog park back in April...went photo mad.  A few weeks back I used one of the photos to make an of the page canvas of Ebony (looked awesome - you can scroll down if you want to see it in an earlier post).  So any way that meant it was Ambers turn for some attention.

I tried not to think to much and just go with it.

I used one of the papers (Grandma's Pearls) in the kit for the background, mounted on Kraft (Bassill), I also used some Lindys spray (Mission Bells Brown) on bubble wrap to kind simulate mud splatters, you can just see them in the background.

I have included a close up of the flourishs, I inked them with TH Walnut stain, then spritzed with Lindy's  Mission Bells Brown, then dabbed on some Wisteria Purple Blue.
I am tryng to include flowers and butterfly's in my work, and there is no better inspiration then Swirlydoos blog for that...

This awesome butterfly was one I got from LittleScrapShop - Angelica has a fabulous range of butterfly's just waiting to be used in layouts or on cards.

I thought this one was just the right touch to finish my layout.

Card: Tea anyone?

Having found my inspiration and my mojo I made two cards, mostly because I love this stamp!

Wow, the purple came out much darker in the photo, but hey provides contrast...

Thanks for looking.
